Palliative care: a matter of MEANING

Pain relief and symptom management are generally well established in palliative care. Yet existential questions concerning loneliness, loss of autonomy and meaning are often overlooked, even though they have a major impact on the quality of life of patients in the final stages of their lives.

With these findings in mind, the Belgian Medical Association Saint-Luke and Solidarité Fin de Vie are organising a symposium on 24 October about meaning and companionship at the end of life.
